MEDICALLY ASSISTED WEIGHT LOSS AND WELLNESS PROGRAM
Our program is dedicated to helping you feel your best while on your medically assisted weight loss journey.
Our aim is to support you in achieving your optimal well-being by focusing on body fat-loss (rather than just weight-loss), preserving existing muscle mass, fostering new healthy habits, and offering a structured exit strategy for when/if you choose to come off the medication.
Created for those looking to start on weight-loss medications like semaglutide or tirzepatide.
Powered by the Mecka Nutrition team and Terri Hepps, MD.
Focus fat-loss NOT just weight-loss! We help you implement strategies to maintain muscle mass.

Weight-Loss:
Can include loss of water weight, muscle mass, and fat.
Focuses solely on reducing the number on the scale.
May result in decreased metabolism if muscle mass is lost.
Often achieved through calorie restriction or crash diets.
Does not necessarily improve body composition or overall health.
Fat-Loss:
Targets specifically reducing body fat while preserving muscle mass.
Leads to a more favorable body composition and appearance.
Can result in increased metabolism and better long-term weight management.
Achieved through a combination of proper nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle changes.
Improves overall health and reduces risk factors associated with excess body fat.
Why muscle is
important.
Metabolic Boost: Lean muscle mass increases metabolism, helping the body burn more calories at rest.
Preservation of Strength: Maintaining muscle mass helps prevent muscle weakness and loss of functional strength during weight loss.
Improved Body Composition: Preserving or increasing lean muscle mass results in a more toned appearance and better overall body composition.
Enhanced Fat Loss: Having more muscle mass can facilitate fat loss, as muscles require energy (calories) to maintain.
Prevention of Metabolic Slowdown: Loss of muscle mass can lead to a decrease in metabolism, making it harder to continue losing weight.
Increased Energy Expenditure: Muscles are metabolically active tissues, so having more muscle mass means burning more calories even during rest.
Supports Long-Term Weight Maintenance: Individuals with higher muscle mass are often better equipped to maintain their weight loss in the long term.
Bone Health: Resistance training to build muscle also helps maintain bone density, reducing the risk of osteoporosis.
Functional Fitness: Strong muscles improve overall physical function and make daily activities easier and more efficient.
Boosts Confidence and Well-Being: Seeing improvements in strength and muscle tone can enhance self-esteem and confidence during the weight loss journey.
What is an InBody Body Composition scan?
Our InBody body composition scans show the breakdown of what your weight means. Total water, total muscle and total body fat.
We use these scans to track the trends as your body composition changes.
We will be focused on maintaining your muscle mass, while encouraging fat-loss, not just weight-loss!
