Meet Coach Josh (Nooner) Elliot
Josh has been training and competing for over two decades—and he’s done it all. He started out bodybuilding in his 20s with classic chest/back/arms splits, but quickly traded Globo Gyms for the world of functional fitness. From kettlebells and grip training to strongman work with chains and tires, Josh built a foundation rooted in real-world strength.
He’s an RKC Level 1 Russian Kettlebell Certified Coach, a CrossFit Level 1 Coach, and a lifelong student of strength. He’s run his own kettlebell training business, completed Mark Rippetoe’s Starting Strength Protocol, and pushed his own limits—adding 100 lbs to his squat, 150 lbs to his deadlift, and 60 lbs to his press in just one year.
Since 2009, Josh has been immersed in CrossFit—training, coaching, and competing. Over the past 15+ years he’s:
• Competed in 21 CrossFit competitions, earning multiple podium finishes.
• Qualified for the CrossFit Open year after year.
• Ranked 381st in the world in the Men’s 40–44 division (2024).
• Placed 27th in the world in the CrossFit Semi-Finals for the CrossFit Total (1180 lbs).
Josh brings all of that experience into OnlyDads: Strength School for Dads—mixing deep technical knowledge with a no-nonsense, approachable coaching style. Whether you’re brand new to lifting or just want to ditch the dad bod, Josh knows how to get you strong, safe, and confident under the bar.
